Peru shocked the world following their spectacular 3-0 victory against the defending champions Chile in the ongoing 2019 Copa America.
The Incas outclassed Chile early in the first half when Edison Flores scored in the 21st minute to give Ricardo Gareca’s side a deserved lead.
17 minutes later, Peru made it 2-0 after a huge mistake from Chile goalkeeper Gabriel Aria, who charged out of his area to intercept a long pass but Andre Carillo got there ahead of him and found Yoshimar Yotun.
Yotun controlled the ball on his chest before volleying home into the unguarded net during the 38th minute of the match.
Heading into the second half, Chile were much better team but their attempts at goal were either off target or safely handled by Peru goalkeeper Pedro Gallese.
Captain Paolo Guerrero capped the scoring in stoppage time before Gallese ended his perfect night by saving a penalty from Chilean striker Eduardo Vargas.
The result will surely go down as one of the most unforgettable games in the history of the tournament as they prepare to face host Brazil in the Copa America final.
