Clubs tell players to prepare for Premier League resumption

Premier League is girding for a possible return by the middle of June.

In a report by Sportsmail, players have been told to reduce their training and shift to full gear by the end of May in preparation for the resumption of the English top-flight tournament.

The clubs have sent e-mails to their players and informed them to expect a return to group training by the end of next month and be ready to resume football “activities’’ at 48 hours’ notice.

Moreover, players were advised to cancel any plans to leave the country during their “off season.’’

Due to the imposed lockdown brought about by the coronavirus pandemic, clubs have devised home-based training plans for their players.

Last Tuesday, the Daily Mail released photos of Chelsea players Tammy Abraham and Reece James as well as Arsenal’s Alexandre Lacazette and Manchester City’s Benjamin Mendy working out at their respective homes.
