Senegal booked their place in the last 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations following their comfortable 3-0 victory against Kenya at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo.
The West African side produced a stellar performance in the second half to dominate Kenya in the final Group C match with the help of Ismaila Sarr and Liverpool star Sadio Mane.
Sarr opened the scoring in the 63rd minute before Mane scored twice with a low drive in the 71st minute and a penalty in the 78th minute to complete a convincing win.
Prior to Mane’s converted penalty, the Liverpool forward was awarded a spot-kick during the first half, but it was saved by Kenya keeper Patrick Matasi to keep the game in the balance.
Meanwhile, Kenya can still progress as one of the four best third placed teams, depending on the results in the final games in Group E and F.
Moving forward, Senegal will now face Uganda in the last 16 of the AFCON on July 6, 2019.
