Algeria did an outstanding job to keep their 100% record intact with a 3-0 win against Tanzania as they finished top of Group C at the Africa Cup of Nations.
It was a dominant display for Algeria. All three goals came in the last ten minutes of the first half from Islam Slimani and Adam Ounas, who scored twice.
Slimani took his chance in the 35th minute of the game to net his 27th international goal on his 61st appearance.
Four minutes later, Slimani played a clever ball to set up Ounas for his first international goal on his 7th appearance.
The Desert Warriors were not yet finished as Slimani turned provider once again with a long pass that allowed Ounas to outsprint the defence, coolly rounding the goalkeeper to make it 3-0.
In the last minute of the match, Tanzania’s Adi Yussuf had a chance to score a consolation goal but headed narrowly over the bar.
The result means that Algeria is set to face a 3rd place finisher in the last 16.
